Jackie Maxwell - Teaching artist, Playwriting

Jackie Maxwell is one of Canada’s most celebrated theatre artists. She has directed for theatres across Canada including The Stratford Festival, The Tarragon, The Citadel, Soulpepper, Mirvish Productions and many more. She has also worked for several theatres in the US.
Jackie served as Artistic Director of the Shaw Festival for 14 seasons, 2002 – 2016 where she worked closely with Centaur AD Eda Holmes. She was also Artistic Director of Factory Theatre from 1987 to 1995.
Recent productions include:
The world premiere of Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise and Ayad Akhtar’s Junk for Arena Stage , Paradise Lost for Centaur Theatre Company, August Osage County for Soulpepper Theatre Company, the world premiere of Paradise Lost at the Stratford Festival, Playboy of the Western World at The Shaw Festival.
