PLANNED GIVING

WHY MAKE A PLANNED GIVING?

Because The National Theatre School of Canada offers incomparable training to theatre artists of all kinds to create work that matters, we encourage theatre lovers like you to arrange a planned gift to the NTS during your lifetime to be made available at some future point.

Your gift will help the next generation of artists bring people together and allow them to imagine, think, and feel collectively. Because Theatre is an act of community building, a catalyst for empathy, creativity, debate, and wellbeing that allows us to better engage with the complexities of our times.

HOW TO LEAVE YOUR OWN LEGACY

There are significant financial and tax benefits associated with each type of donation to help you minimize the cost and maximize the impact of your philanthropy:

  • Bequests
  • Gifts of Life Insurance
  • Percentage of Author’s Rights
  • Gifts of Publicly Traded Securities
  • Gifts-in-Kind
  • Gifts of RRSPs and RRIFs
  • Gifts of Real Estate

DONOR RECOGNITION

The Heritage & Horizon Society recognizes donors who have remembered NTS through a provision in a will or other form of planned gift. When you inform us of your intentions, you will receive a personalized certificate signed by our CEO as well as invitations to special  events.
Information about your planned gifts will remain strictly confidential. Should you wish to be listed in our Annual Report or be profiled in our communications materials, we will require your express written consent.

We strongly urge you to seek advice from a professional legal advisor today.

Because many bequests and planned gifts are unique, NTS encourages donors to speak with NTS, your advisors and/or brokers to find the most eloquent and practical way of fulfilling our mutual interests.

Testimonials

MICHAEL EAGAN, Set and Costume Design 1966

Why leave money in my will to NTS? Well, as the saying goes, “I can’t take it with me.” The truth is because I want to have an impact on a school that enriched my life so significantly. My estate will be the point in my life when I will best be able to share philanthropically with future NTS artists, dreamers, doers, and like-minded provocateurs in the search for beauty and meaning.
This school is like no other. It challenges us to always go beyond what is expected. That
kind of artistic freedom is worth nurturing and protecting.

GIL DESAUTELS, NTS Governor

It is with great pride that I have chosen to make a planned gift to the National Theatre School of Canada, through a bequest. With this gesture, I wished to act not only as a torchbearer, but also support with a concrete gesture my two passions: theatre and education.
