Fundraising Event | 65th anniversary

On May 5, 2026, at the Monument-National, the National Theatre School of Canada’s very first fundraising event brought our 65th anniversary celebrations to a memorable close.

More than 300 guests — artists, alumni, partners, members of the business community, and lovers of the performing arts — came together for this special evening, helping raise an outstanding $225,000 in support of the next generation of theatre artists.

Thanks to this incredible generosity, NTS will continue its mission to train and support tomorrow’s artists by strengthening professional training opportunities, improving access to studies through scholarships, and fostering a stimulating, inclusive learning environment that reflects the realities of today’s industry.

Conceived by Frédéric Dubois and hosted by René Richard Cyr, the evening created a heartfelt dialogue between memory and the future. On stage, Éric Bruneau, Marilyn Castonguay, Gilles Renaud, Sandrine Bisson, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau, Irdens Exantus, and Roy Dupuis revisited their audition pieces from their entrance to the School, joined by students from the Interprétation program. It was a moving, generous, and deeply authentic moment.

We extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of this event: our artists, partners, donors, volunteers, staff teams, and every guest in attendance. Your support reflects a meaningful commitment to the arts and to the artists who will shape the theatre of tomorrow.

Thank you for celebrating this important milestone with us and for helping shine a spotlight on NTS and the next generation of artistic talent.

Stay tuned to our newsletters and social media channels for upcoming activities and updates on the next edition of our fundraising event.

Your contribution will allow us to:

Support the training of the next generation of artists by helping NTS continue to offer an exceptional education — rooted in practice, discipline, and bold creativity.

Offer financial aid covering tuition, living expenses or specialized materials for our students.

Maintain inspiring, well-equipped creative spaces tailored to today’s performing arts needs.

Elevate new voices that reflect diversity, inclusion and innovation in theatre.

Accompany artists on their journey from training to the stage through mentorship, networking, and visibility opportunities—both locally and internationally.
