NTS Public Classes

Inspired by the excellence of NTS’s professional training programs

REGISTER FOR THE 2025 WINTER SESSION

Welcome to the Public Classes at the National Theatre School of Canada!

The NTS Public Classes aim to give everyone the opportunity to explore theatre as an art form and an instrument for social and personal change. Inspired by the excellence of NTS’s core professional training programs, the NTS Public Classes teach foundational skills in acting, playwriting, voice work, and more.

Led by a team of impressive local artists, the NTS Public Classes are a place where people of all ages and levels of experience can become more confident in their creative abilities and learn how to apply these skills to their future endeavours. Each session culminates in an open class providing an opportunity for the students to apply what they have learned and add the final ingredient: the audience.

The National Theatre School of Canada is committed to ensuring greater inclusion and diversity in our courses and to making our resources accessible to as many people as possible. We encourage people of all ages, genders, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, and abilities to join our classes.

This year's series of public classes marks the beginning of an exciting collaboration between two Montreal theatre powerhouses – the National Theatre School of Canada and Geordie Theatre – as they join forces to bring the magic of theatre to even more people. Now EVERYONE can join in on the fun!
