The National Theater School of Canada (NTS) is seeking a service provider, a caring and motivated team player and associate, to serve as its Head of Cafeteria Food Services. The ideal candidate is an exceptional and enthusiastic person who is passionate about the performing arts and wants what is best for talented young adult artists.


Working in a highly stimulating and vibrant environment, the service provider will be responsible for supplying food at the cafeteria and providing healthy, nutritionally balanced and satisfying meals.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations and Training Support, the Head of Cafeteria Food Services will play a vital role in the well-being of the students and staff who use the National Theatre School’s cafeteria on a daily basis.


The successful candidate will have a strong command of food preparation techniques and menu creation, hygiene and food safety principles, and the basics of kitchen/cafeteria management. He or she will follow recipes to prepare and cook the meals, meeting standards of quality and presentation; test meals; monitor food quality during preparation; set up and clear the work station; serve well-portioned meals using appropriate tableware; wash and disinfect all elements of the kitchen, including tables, tools and equipment; ensure and verify food conservation; and make sure food and appliances are at the correct temperature.

This is a one-year contract, subsequently renewable with the agreement of the parties. The associate will be required to provide meal services from mid-August to the end of May (with a two-week break during the holiday period).

There will be a transition period in May 2018.
