Job Description

The Monument-National is an evolving venue energized by the presence of NTS students. The ideal candidate will provide exemplary and rigorous service to numerous clients while communicating the organization's values. This candidate will also be called upon to guide and share their knowledge with students who must undergo intense training to fully understand the intricacies of stage professions.

Job description

  • Ensure the smooth running of events, activities, and performances according to the schedule set by the Technical Direction;

  • Be responsible for the inventory, periodic, and annual maintenance of equipment in their department, as well as its storage throughout the building;

  • Support the technical director in coordinating the lighting technician department, both pedagogically and for internal and external rentals;

  • Provide technical support to the St-Denis pavilion under the supervision of the Monument National technical director;

  • Respect and apply health and safety regulations at all times;

  • Respect and apply internal policies and procedures to maintain a healthy, respectful, ethical, and professional work environment;

  • Inform the Technical Direction of any shortage in stage equipment and provide advice on equipment replacement;

  • Embody the values of the Monument-National pavilion and the National Theatre School by offering outstanding service to our internal clients;

  • Provide educational support during student productions (knowledge sharing);

  • Participate in organizational meetings, whether at the Monument-National pavilion or the Saint-Denis pavilion;

  • Perform any other related task.

Experience and skills required

Required Qualifications

  • College diploma in show production, theatrical production, or equivalent work experience;

  • Three years of experience in a similar position;

  • Excellent skills with new technologies;

  • Educational mindset and good interpersonal skills;

  • Team spirit;

  • Good communication and popularization skills;

  • Good adaptability and ability to work under pressure;

  • Proficiency in French and English (both oral and written).

Assets

  • Knowledge of the Office suite;

  • Knowledge of Qlab software;

  • Knowledge of Autocad;

  • Knowledge of VectorWorks;

  • Knowledge of the Strand Palette VL console software.
