NTS offers intense and rigorous training at the highest level through its professional programs, while also opening its doors for the good of all by offering continuing education, artistic residencies, and public workshops. The School develops and initiates many programs to support its existing training programs and to connect with thousands of artists and audiences of all ages from coast to coast. By 2020, the School will impact over 10,000 theatre lovers every year.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Manager – Operations of the M-N campus, the chosen candidate is in charge of developing and maintaining the rental clientele and providing them with exceptional service.

In collaboration with the technical management, when necessary, he or she will support the producers in organizing events, all with unparalleled attention and care.

With this in mind, he or she will:

  • Ensure the synergy of the different teams at work;
    Maintain a warm and proactive work environment;
  • Ensure the effective management of requests for use of spaces from the National Theatre School;
  • Receive room rental requests from clients and process them efficiently;
  • Provide potential clients with all information about rental terms and conditions;
  • Collect the necessary information from clients for technical and hospitality management;
  • Participate in enforcing the standards, rules and protocols established in the various M-N performance spaces as well as in lobbies and hallways;
  • Determine the clients’ needs (room layout, reception staff, ticketing hours, media reception, bars, caterers, necessary staff, signage, etc.), advise clients and provide quotes for events organized by renters at the M-N;
  • Welcome clients and prepare quotes and rental contracts;
  • Collect billing information and pass it on to the school's accounting department.
  • Organize and tour clients through the spaces, along with a technical representative;
  • Propose and implement best practices and new ideas that will help us stand out in terms of customer service, while also monitoring market trends;
  • Collaborate in implementing marketing and promotion strategies for room rentals at the M-N;
  • Implement tracking methods and/or other indicators to analyze customer experience;
  • Analyze various data to improve the customer experience;
  • Solicit feedback, suggestions for improvement, and complaints, and follow up as necessary;
    Update data using event management software;
  • Connect with prospective clients;
  • Keep the lists of rental rates and conditions up to date;
  • Update the activity log of the rooms and disseminate it to all relevant people;
  • Convene team members at regular and ad-hoc meetings;
  • Follow-up as necessary with clients, based on these meetings;
  • Manage petty cash;
  • Any other related tasks that may be relevant to the position.

Required Profile

The incumbent will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and strong instincts for customer service, in a context where teamwork, adaptability and the ability to propose and implement new ways of working are part of the daily routine.

  • Proven experience in a similar position, with demonstrated success;
  • English/French bilingual (oral and written);
  • Punctual and with a sense of responsibility;
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to build trust, keen instinct for customer service, judgement, diplomacy, good humour, discretion and stress management;
  • Ability to juggle many tasks and responsibilities;
  • Strong aptitude for teamwork, openness to others and differing ideas;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, problem solving skills, creativity, rigour, independence, integrity and resourcefulness;
  • In-depth knowledge of the Office Suite and the ability to quickly master new software.
