In the fall of 2025, students at the National Theatre School of Canada (NTS) had the privilege of meeting Thomas Ostermeier, internationally renowned director and artistic director of the Schaubühne in Berlin.

Through a rich and stimulating exchange, students were able to immerse themselves in the vision of a major contemporary theatre creator. Between reflections on directing, critical perspectives on the current world, and explorations of today’s theatrical forms, this meeting opened new perspectives on artistic practice.

These moments of direct dialogue with leading figures in the field are at the heart of NTS’s training – precious opportunities to nurture curiosity, broaden horizons, and inspire the artists of tomorrow.
