Two Scholarships, One Shared Commitment: Supporting the Next Generation
NTS is proud to celebrate the awarding of two important scholarships this year, made possible through the generosity of two prominent figures in Quebec and Canadian theatre.
Normand-Chaurette Scholarships
Established through the bequest of Normand Chaurette, a major figure in Quebec theatre and a former teacher at the School, this scholarship awards $5,000 to each graduating student in the Écriture dramatique program every year. One year after its creation, it continues to support the next generation of playwrights while carrying on Normand Chaurette’s legacy among new generations of writers.
This year, the scholarship was awarded to Alexie Legendre and Alexandre Martin, 2026 graduates of the Écriture dramatique program. Congratulations!

Michael-Eagan Scholarships
Made possible through the bequest of Michael Eagan, a renowned Canadian set designer and former Director of NTS’s Set and costume design program, this brand-new scholarship supports second-year students in Set and costume design who distinguish themselves through their talent and commitment—continuing his support for the training of the next generation of set and costume designers.
For its inaugural year, the scholarship was awarded to Camille Antonuk and Anne Uemura, second-year students in the Set and costume design program. Congratulations!
