To support and promote emerging talent in playwriting, two $5,000 scholarships were awarded to Ève Landry and Jules G. Even, graduates of the National Theatre School of Canada’s 2025 Écriture Dramatique program.

These scholarships are made possible through a bequest from Normand Chaurette, a prominent figure in Quebec theatre and a former instructor at NTS. Through this generous gesture, his legacy lives on by providing tangible support to new voices in dramaturgy.

By recognizing the talent and potential of these young writers, the Normand-Chaurette Scholarships help encourage creation and ensure the vitality of theatre today and tomorrow.
