Tamara Brown

Tamara Brown is an award-winning Montreal-based actor, singer, writer, and director who has worked on stages across Canada and beyond. Some of her favorite theatre credits include: Da Kink in My Hair (NAC/Theatre Calgary) and the most recent 20th Anniversary Edition (Soulpepper/TO Live/CBC Radio), Adventures of a Black Girl in Search of God (NAC/Centaur); Intimate Apparel, (Centaur Theatre); Inherit the Wind (Segal Centre for Performing Arts); Robin Hood (Geordie Productions); Julius Caesar (Repercussion Theatre); Richard III (Metachroma Theatre).

As a singer, she has had the incredible fortune to perform with artists such as Buena Vista Social Club, Bebel Gilberto, Paul Anka, Mario Pelchat, Dubmatique, and many others, and has toured with her own bands across Canada, US, and Asia.

She is one of the founding members of Metachroma Theatre, created to address the under-representation of BIPOC artists in Québec and Canadian theatre since 2010. In 2019, Tamara wrote Blackout for Tableau D’Hôte Theatre with Lydie Dubuisson, Kym Dominque-Ferguson, and Mathieu Murphy-Perron. Her work as a director has been seen on stages in Montreal, Toronto, Sherbrooke, Winnipeg, New York, and Stratford.

She can also be seen on the big and small screen in film and television productions such as Three Pines; The Bold Type; Alert: Missing Persons Unit; Helix; 19-2; The Game; Real Detective; Gothika and Stolen. In recent years, Tamara has broken into videogames, with impressive roles in games such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Outlast 2; The Division 2: Warlords of New York; Outriders, The Outer Worlds; Assassin’s Creed Origins and Deux Ex: Mankind Divided.
