Fruzsina Lanyi - Teaching Artist, Set & Costume Design
A costume and set designer since graduating from the National Theatre School of Canada in 2003, Fruzsina Lanyi has worked as a costume coach with graduating students at the school since 2016. She has created more than one hundred designs for a wide range of Montreal stages, from underground and independent productions to major institutional venues, as well as site-specific and immersive performances.
A versatile and fearless creator, Lanyi embraces new challenges across a broad range of disciplines, working as a costume designer, prop designer, makeup artist, and art director. She also maintains a creative practice in Hungary, her country of origin, where she received the Best Production Design award at the 40th Budapest Film Festival in 2009.
Particularly drawn to immersive experiences, she is the founder, designer, and co-owner of Missions Morpheus, an immersive escape-game company.
Theatre nevertheless remains her primary artistic field—both for the encounters and creative exchanges it fosters, and for the opportunity it offers to explore, imagine, and bring new worlds to life.
