Thomas Morgan Jones - Executive Artistic Director of the English Section and Director of the Directing Program

Thomas Morgan Jones has worked as a director, playwright, dramaturg, movement coach, educator and artistic director for over 25 years.  His work has been seen nationally and internationally.  A former artistic director of Prairie Theatre Exchange and Theatre New Brunswick, he has programmed over 40 world premieres, and has been a dramaturg on over 50 new plays. 

Directing credits include: Through the Eyes of God by Anusree Roy at Theatre Passe Muraille (Toronto Theatre Critic’s Award for Direction)Wendy and Peter Pan by Ella Hickson and his adaptation of A Wrinkle In Time by Madeleine L’Engle at The Stratford Festival (where he received the Jack Hutt Humanitarian Award); the world premieres of Feast by Guillermo Verdecchia, The War Being Waged by Darla Contois, and Post-Democracy by Hannah Moscovitch at PTE; Ghost Light by Shawn Wright and Finding Wolastoq Voice by Natalie Sappier at Theatre New Brunswick.  As a playwright, credits include:  The Veil (with Keith Barker) produced by Thought for Food, Guild Festival Theatre and Crow’s Theatre (published by Scirocco); A Killing At La Cucina at Prairie Theatre Exchange and Vertigo Theatre; and multiple tours of Old Man and the River (with Lynda Hill) at Theatre Direct and WeeFestival.   

Thomas holds a BA from the University of Guelph and an MA from the University of Toronto and has trained extensively internationally with SITI Company and The Suzuki Company of Toga.  He is a SITI Company Alumni Network Ambassador.
