Kevin Ah-Sen - Teaching-artist, Acting program

Kevin Ah-Sen is a PhD student in Communication Studies at McGill University working in the areas of Black Studies, Death Studies, visual art and film, psychoanalysis, and critical theory. Broadly speaking, his research explores the conceptual and pedagogical limits of grief and mourning through the prism of antiblackness. He is a founding member and convener of black symposium noir, an independent and bilingual Black Studies collective based in Montreal. Prior to pursuing his doctoral studies, Kevin was a secondary school English teacher and choir instructor. He has publications available or forthcoming at The Conversation, the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education, and the Global Media Journal.
