Sarah Flynn - Artistic Leadership Resident 2026
Sarah Flynn (she/her/elle) is a performer, playwright, and arts leader born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Treaty 1 territory, and is the Artistic Associate at Manitoba Theatre for Young People. Sarah holds a BA Honours in Theatre Performance with a specialization in Devised Theatre and a Minor in Classical Societies from the University of Winnipeg.
A life-long learner, Sarah became a Baby Clown at the Clown Farm; trained in Suzuki technique with SITI Company; and completed a playwriting mentorship through Creative Manitoba with Ellen Peterson. She won the Harry Rintoul Award for Best New Manitoban Play for Whatever Happens After? at the 2022 Winnipeg Fringe Festival.
Sarah most recently performed the role of One in the Canadian premiere of Gather at Manitoba Theatre for Young People. Sarah has performed in theatres, schools, and community centres across Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Interlake, and Italy. Sarah enjoys frolicking in forests, lighting things on fire, and playing with her food.
Sarah has a deep love of theatre for young audiences and firmly believes that young people are some of the finest humans and make up the best audiences; they deserve incredible art made specifically for them. Sarah always creates with the audience at the forefront of her mind. She wants to make people feel things deeply, to find laughter, and to connect with their innate humanity and with those around them.
