Jocelyn Tsui - Artistic Leadership Resident 2026
Jocelyn Tsui (she/her) is a mixed-race Chinese Canadian artistic leader, theatre producer, performer, and playwright based on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wu7mesh (Squamish), and sə̓lílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations (colonially known as Vancouver, BC). She leads with the values of transparency, collaboration, and compassion, and she is a passionate advocate for equitable producing practices in Canadian theatre. She is currently the Producer at the Arts Club Theatre Company. In 2020, she co-founded Momentum 180 Theatre Collective, through which she co-leads The Parallel Project, a professional development and monologue commission program for emerging IBPOC playwrights. In under five years, The Parallel Project has commissioned 25 new monologues by 22 emerging IBPOC playwrights, and their first book of monologues will be published by Playwrights Canada Press in May 2026. As a freelance producer, Jocelyn facilitated several new play development workshops, including a year of the Creation Lab at vAct (Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre). She was selected for Business/Arts’ inaugural Emerging Leadership Program in 2024, through which she attended the Canadian Arts Summit in Banff. Jocelyn holds a Diploma of Musical Theatre from Capilano University and a Bachelor of Arts with Minors in Biology & Contemporary Arts from Simon Fraser University. She sits on the board of Camp Cue, a non-profit musical theatre sleepaway camp for youth.
