Xavier Mary - Teaching Artist, Set and Costume Design, Création et production

As a set and costume designer with human experience, I participate in the creation of artistic and multimedia works. With Mirari, I created the set and costume design for King Dave at Théâtre Jean-Duceppe and developed a number of installations for public spaces, including Duo (Numix award in the In Situ Experiential Installation category – International), and the immersive set and costume design for the Canada Pavilion at the 2021 Frankfurt International Book Fair, as a special guest (Numix award in the In Situ Immersive Experience category). As a National Theatre School of Canada graduate in set and costume design, with a background in theatre, dance and art installations, I have worked with Jean-Simon Traversy, Solène Paré, Justin Laramée, Sovann Rochon Prom-Tep and Productions Menuentakuan, on the stages of theatres such as the Prospéro, La Chapelle and La Roulotte and Salle Fred Barry. Given my passion for dance, I devoted my master’s degree to the role that space plays in Quebec’s New Dance. This interest in and openness to multidisciplinary forms inform my approach to the living space.
