Josée Boisvert - Teaching Artist, Set & Costume Design

A graduate of NTS in Set and Costume Design (1985), Josée Boisvert started out as a costume designer for the Saidye Bronfman Centre’s Yiddish Theatre (The Unseen, Lies My Father Told Me and The Jazz Singer).
A costume designer for cinema and television, she has taken part in more than 70 Quebec and American productions.
She has collaborated on projects set in diverse eras: Maurice Richard, Monica la mitraille, Le frère André, Les grands procès, Asbestos and other more contemporary productions including La loi du cochon, King Dave, Mirador 3, Jésus de Montréal and Revoir Julie.
She was recently involved in American projects such as Midway, Bad Santa 2, Future Man 3, Brooklyn and House of Versace, as well as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
In 1995, she started teaching costume design at Collège Lionel-Groulx’s Theatre department. She then got involved in professional training for AQTIS.
She returned to the National Theatre School in 2009 to teach courses in Costume History.
