Josée Bergeron-Proulx - Teaching Artist, Set and Costume Design

With a background in visual arts and having graduated from the Set and Costume Design program at the National Theatre School of Canada in 2007, Josée Bergeron-Proulx dives with passion into the theatrical creative processes. For the past 10 years, she has been involved in set, costume and accessory design. As a creator of ephemeral spaces, she has worked collaboratively with stage directors such as René-Richard Cyr, Alain Gauthier, Monique Gosselin and Anne-Marie White. She has shared her love for the architecture of the imagination with various companies: Théâtre la Manufacture, Théâtre du Trillium, L’Illusion Théâtre de Marionnettes, JM Canada, and Théâtre la Rubrique. Josée has also ventured into the creation of accessories for film projects, set design for exhibits and corporate events and creation of art installations. For eight years, she shared her expertise with others while leading the set and costume design program at Collège Jean-Eudes. She now teaches at Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe’s theatre school. She is currently conducting research to upgrade her skills as part of her master’s studies in visual and media arts at UQAM.
