Erica Croft - Teaching Artist, Set & Costume Design

Erica has been in the inner circle of theatre design for over 20 years. She began her craft by attending a leading school of hair design. She then landed in a Toronto Church Street salon. Theatre has always been in her blood and she found her way to the Livent Wigshop. Livent gave her the opportunity to hone her new wig building skills on shows such as Phantom, Ragtime, Show Boat, Fosse and many others. Stratford called and Erica answered. She then set into a 20 year relationship with the Festival creating shows, training their crews, running shows, performing many chats and teaching, teaching, teaching. She was instrumental in creating a wig making apprenticeship for the Festival to develop and support the design and creation of wigs for theatre and film. her "OFF THE WALL" classes have been a staple for film hair and make up professionals for a decade. Erica just wrapped the Sony Feature film, Man From Toronto starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. Upcoming for Erica is her next film, Code 8 Part 2 for Warner Bros/Netflix and The Kings of Napa for Oprah Winfrey. She continues to teach BIPOC hair to union and private artists alike and is building wigs for the stars at home. She was awarded the Jack Hutt Humanitarian Award by her peers at the Festival for her work promoting equity and love backstage.
