Stéphane Longpré - Director of the Set and Costume Design program

Since graduating from the Set and Costume Design program at the National Theatre School of Canada (2002), Stéphane Longpré has worked on many productions as a scenographer, props designer, and assistant scenographer.

Stéphane Longpré served as scenogapher for Trois Petites Soeurs (Théâtre Le Carrousel, 2016), Chaîne de montage (Théâtre de Quat’sous, 2014), Gretel et Hansel (Théâtre Le Carrousel, 2013), Le bruit des os qui craquent (Théâtre Le Carrousel and Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui, 2009 & 2011) and Soulier de sable (Théâtre Le Carrousel, 2006), plays written by Suzanne Lebeau and directed by Gervais Gaudreault, Les Diablogues by Roland Dubillard, directed by Denis Marleau (Théâtre du Rideau Vert, 2016), Punto Ciego, a choreography by Victor Quijada (Rubberbandance Group, 2009), Ombres written and directed by Stéphanie Jasmin (UBU, 2005), and Bureaux written and directed by Alexis Martin (Nouveau Théâtre Expérimental, 2004).

For director Denis Marleau, Stéphane Longpré has acted as props master and assistant-scenographer for numerous productions including Le dernier feu by Dea Loher (Espace Go and UBU, 2013), L'histoire du Roi Lear by Shakespeare (Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, 2012), Une fête pour Boris by Thomas Bernhard (UBU, 2009), Ce qui meurt en dernier by Normand Chaurette (Espace Go, and UBU, 2008), Othello by Shakespeare (National Arts Centre and UBU, 2007), La fin de Casanova by Marina Tsvetaïeva (Espace Go, National Arts Centre and UBU, 2007), Les Reines by Normand Chaurette (National Arts Centre and UBU, 2005), Nous étions assis sur le rivage du monde by José Pliya (National Arts Centre, Festival de théâtre des Amériques, and UBU, 2005) and Le moine noir based on the novel by Anton Chekhov (National Arts Centre and UBU, 2004).

Finally, from 2009 to 2012, Stéphane Longpré was director of props for the production of the opera Le Ring by Richard Wagner, with direction by Robert Lepage (ExMachina and Metropolitan Opera, 2009-2012).
