Lauren Maykut - teaching artist in the Acting Program
Lauren is an actor and Linklater Voice Teacher. She holds an MFA in acting from Columbia University in the City of New York where she trained with master voice teacher Kristin Linklater, and is one of only a few coaches in Canada who have been Designated in the Linklater Voice method. She has performed in a number theatres, festivals, and films in Canada and in the USA. Favourite credits include: New York: Off-Broadway: "The Oresteia" and "Othello" (Classic Stage Company); Off-Off-B’Way: "A Midsummer Night’s Dream" (Gorilla Rep), "Exposure" (Gene Frankel Theatre), and "Our Town" (13th Street Repertory Theatre). Toronto: Roles with The Guild Festival Theatre, Little Red, and various workshops with Crow’s Theatre. Recently she was seen in "Blood and Soil" (Theatre ARTaud). Lauren has been on faculty as a Professor of Voice in the Acting for Media Department at George Brown College, and in the Theatre Performance Program at Centennial College. She has also taught and coached at the Toronto Film School, the George Brown Theatre School, Humber College, York University, Sheridan/UTM, and the University of Toronto.
