Read the One-Act Play Crack the Pretty Armour<\/em> by Julia Weisser<\/a><\/h2>\n

About the project<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Crack the Pretty <\/span><\/span>Armour <\/span><\/span><\/em>is<\/span><\/span> <\/span>a one-act play by Julia Weisser<\/strong>, inspired by her research and interviews with former members of Toronto-based theatre company Creation 2 (1968-1977). It is, however, a work of fiction. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Crack the Pretty Armour<\/span><\/span><\/em> <\/span>takes us back in time to the 70s and follows the story of a radical theatre company who sought to shake things up!<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

This project received financial support from the National Theatre School of Canada via the Art Apart program<\/a>, an emergency fund for emerging artists who are affected by physical distancing due to coronavirus (COVID-19).<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

About the artist<\/strong><\/p>\n

Julia Weisser<\/strong> is a playwright, director, and producer. She is currently finishing her 3rd year of the Performance Creation program in Concordia University\u2019s Theatre Department. Her first play, Culver<\/em> \u2013 written about the \u201cMe Too” movement and the rise of online men\u2019s rights activists \u2013 was performed at the 2019 Montreal Fringe Festival. Before returning to school to study theatre, Julia was a community social worker with a focus on mental health and addictions. Her theatre company, Humanly Possible Productions, produces socially relevant plays inspired by true events. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
