At the National Theatre School of Canada, we have always believed that our name is a promise. Being a “National” school means more than just welcoming students to our campuses in Montr\u00e9al; it means actively engaging with the artistic heartbeat of the entire country. This belief is what fuels the English Section’s annual Audition Tour, a journey that recently saw our Acting Program Director, Quincy Armorer, traveling across 12 cities and 9 provinces to meet the next generation of Canadian theatre artists in person. From the vibrant energy of Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, through the bustling creative hubs of Toronto, Ottawa, and Montr\u00e9al, to the storied stages of Halifax, St. John\u2019s, Charlottetown, and Fredericton, we traveled coast to coast to coast because we know that exceptional talent does not wait for a formal invitation to exist\u2014it is already there, flourishing in every time zone and every province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We don’t wait for talent to find us because we recognize that the future of Canadian theatre is as vast and diverse as the land itself. To every candidate who stepped into an audition room over these past weeks, we want to express our deepest gratitude; it takes incredible courage and dedication to share your craft and your vulnerability with a panel, and your passion is a constant reminder of why this work matters. This tour is a massive collaborative undertaking, and it truly takes a village to bridge the distance between us. We are profoundly grateful to our venue partners and the local panelists in every city who helped make these connections possible. As we look back on the miles traveled, we are reminded that Canada never ceases to inspire us. The talent we encountered is a testament to the strength of our national arts community, and we look forward to seeing that brilliance continue to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
