About the author

I’ve thought about this play everyday for the last year and a half, but I really think I was subconsciously thinking about it long before. Writing it felt like a constant crisis, but I’m also so thankful for the reassurance the process, and the play has given me.

Summarizing what it means to me is hard; it’s a play about how I’ve been feeling these past few years. It’s the cumulation of my time here. It’s an ending, sure, but it’s also a beginning and the boring part in-between. I just hope you all find it funny, and scary, and hopeful, and hopefully it tells you something you didn’t know and reminds you of something you forgot. I know it’s all these things for me — and yes, I’m being cryptic, but that’s because I don’t want to give anything away while you’re waiting for the show to start. I want to be clear on one thing, though; I couldn’t have done any of this without my friends, collaborators and instructors at NTS, my fantastic dramaturge Robert Chafe, and the love/support of those at home. This play exists because of you all, and this play is for you all. So, with that being said… thanks for reading, thanks for coming, and I hope you enjoy the dance.
