About the class

Playwriting II is intended as a follow-up to Playwriting I.  

During this continued work, playwrights will benefit from one-on-one time with the instructor as they work towards the completion of their play. Class time will be replaced by independent work and bi-weekly sessions of dramaturgy and discussion with the instructor.

Who?

Priority for enrolment will be given to students who completed Playwriting I during the fall of 2022; consideration will be given to other students who have taken playwriting courses elsewhere and who are midway through the creation of a new play.

When?

Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm

Teaching artist: Jeremy Taylor

Born and raised in Ottawa, Jeremy Taylor is a graduate of the playwriting program at the National Theatre School of Canada (2010) and the theatre program at the University of Waterloo (2007).
His plays include
Big Plans, Shouting, The Beekeepers, When Animals Attack, and The King of Fifteen Island.

As a director and dramaturg, his credits include David Fennario’s Motherhouse (Centaur Theatre) and Johanna Nutter’s My Pregnant Brother. He has also worked as a cultural producer for organizations such as the Canadian Improv Games, Just For Laughs, and the Freestanding Room.
Jeremy’s recent adventures included writing for immersive visitor experiences, telling stories for brands like
Star Wars, National Geographic and the Canadian Olympic Committee, and for cultural institutions like the Canadian Museum of History, the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, and the California State Railroad Museum. Jeremy lives and works in Montreal.
