It is in this context of greater adaptability that the candidate chosen for the position of Manager – Market Development and Sponsorship will collaborate with the director of communications and marketing in executing a strategy that will improve the School’s revenues.

Job description

Under the supervision of the director of communications and marketing, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in implementing the School’s strategic marketing plan.

The incumbent will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and will take a leadership position in generating revenue from non-philanthropic corporate partnerships, as well as revenue from programs offered to the public.


The incumbent will be responsible for:
 
Sponsorship:
  • Assist the director in implementing the strategy for corporate partnerships, services, and strategic alliances;
  • Develop and implement an action plan with respect to partnerships in order to meet stated quantitative and qualitative goals;
  • Maintain current relationships and develop new partnerships;
  • Create and implement a plan for the acknowledgement and retention for corporate partners;
  • Develop a network of potential partners;
  • Manage relations between the School and its partners;
  • Adopt a global approach in order to ensure consistency and thoroughness, and ensure all opportunities are seized;
  • Create and draft letters, plans, presentations, proposals, and all other applicable documentation;
  • Develop a unique, creative, effective, and sincere campaign to promote the involvement of our business partners and to attract new ones: demonstrate innovation by using technological or other non-traditional channels;
  • Manage the writing of contracts along with legal services, and ensure that they are understood by partners and that relevant content is communicated to all necessary parties;
  • Assure that all clauses are followed for all contractual agreements between the Foundation and corporate partners;
  • Maintain and develop relationships based on trust and focused on the future;
  • In collaboration with the Programming team, identify concrete projects to be funded;
  • Provide expertise and ideas to assist with other revenue-generating projects;
  • Approve all communications and messages as well as visibility of partners’ campaigns, with the help of the Communications department as needed;
  • Contribute to growing or aligning marketing and publicity strategies for major partners in order to maximize the success of their promotional campaigns, benefitting the Foundation;
  • Report on accounts for partners.

 
Sales:
  • Secure a Canadian distribution network and identify effective promotional strategies;
  • Collaborate to develop and manage tools for Customer Relationship Management (CRM);
  • Develop sales and partnership tools for our full roster of events, activities, and public training programs;
  • Collaborate with box office, communications, programming, and logistics departments in order to deliver activities of the highest quality;
  • Provide exemplary customer service;
  • Carry out satisfaction surveys and incorporate the feedback.

IDEAL PROFILE

  • University educated;
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with supporting proof of success;
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in sales and sponsorship;
  • Perfectly bilingual, oral and written;
  • Creative, independent, and with a keen interest in the Canadian cultural sector;
  • Experience with revenue-generating strategies (within the educational or festival sector is an asset);
  • Leadership and strategic instincts;
  • Facility for negotiation and sales;
  • Ability to manage several files at once;
  • Excellent talent for organization, teamwork, and collaboration;
  • Background in business;
  • Ability to manage a budget and stick to a schedule;
  • Ability to make quick and smart decisions;
  • Efficient, motivated, and creative;
  • Open spirit and global perspective at all times;
  • Familiarity with DonorPerfect, an asset.
