Summer Job: Data Entry Clerk

As part of the Canada Summer Jobs program, the National Theatre School of Canada is providing a job opportunity for a student currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (bachelor or master’s level), ideally in Administration, Archives and Records Management, or another field directly related to the position.

The employment period is 8 weeks, 35 hours per week at $15/hour.

Job Description

Responsibilities

The person hired will provide support and carry out various administrative tasks for the School’s operational departments and the CEO’s office. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field while working with a dynamic team and learning about the many administrative aspects involved in running a major theatre arts institution.

As part of the NTS team, the Data Entry Clerk will:

  • Provide administrative support for a broad range of NTS activities and actively participate in the management of various project files;
  • Enter data, file, and archive internal documents;
  • Ensure that data entered in the School’s databases is complete and accurate;
  • Document and implement a procedural guide for database usage;
  • Assist the administrative team in the proper maintenance of internal databases;
  • Provide support to other departments, as needed.
Profile
  • College or university studies in field related to the position;
  • Bilingual in both official languages, spoken (an asset);
  • Strongly organized, able to work independently and successfully meet deadlines;
  • Adept at working with others and as part of a team;
  • Open-minded at all times with a broad outlook;
  • Keen interest in arts and culture.
Eligibility

To be eligible for this position, which t is funded by the federal initiative, you must:

    • Be between 17 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the start of the employment;
    • Have been enrolled as a full-time student during the previous school year;
    • Be planning resume full-time studies in the coming school year;
    • Be enrolled in a secondary, post-secondary, CEGEP (Quebec only), vocational, or technical program;
    • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status and be authorized to work in the employer’s province or territory;
    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

    This is an eight-week summer job of 35 hours a week at an hourly rate of $15.00.
