The challenges of the position

The chosen candidate will assist the department management to develop and implement communications/marketing initiatives and campaigns, and will also participate in drafting communications material for our social media feeds and our website.

NTS offers intense and rigorous training at the highest level through its professional programs, while also opening its doors for the good of all by offering continuing education, artistic residencies, and public workshops. The School develops and initiates many programs to support its existing training programs and to connect with thousands of artists and audiences of all ages from coast to coast. By 2020, the School will impact over 10,000 theatre lovers every year.

In this context, we are looking for a versatile and flexible person who can juggle priorities and is ready to evolve with the job!

Job Description

Under the supervision of the director of communications and marketing, the chosen candidate will assist with the development, delivery, and evaluation of various initiatives within the communications and marketing team. In this capacity, he or she will:

  • Coordinate content updates and perform routine changes on the website through CMS Freestone (for example, updating activities at the Monument-National, managing the careers page and job posts, posting information about upcoming shows, etc.)

  • Support content production for the website and social media feeds (e.g., newsletters, videos, photos, blogs, etc.);

  • Provide weekly reports about engagement on our website and social media feeds (Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, etc.);

  • Manage the weekly calendar on social media;
  • Manage the production of marketing material (for example, posters and programs for shows and festivals, business cards, photos and bios for graduates, other documents, etc.);

  • Coordinate various activities and special events;

  • Manage and update contact lists in Mailchimp and other platforms;

  • Coordinate and manage quotes and purchase orders from various suppliers, including freelance translators and editors;

  • Participate in editing and/or translating various documents;

  • Other related tasks as appropriate to the position.

Required Profile

  • Post-secondary diploma in marketing, or equivalent;

  • Proven experience in a similar position, with demonstrated success;

  • Excellent writing and communication skills in both English and French;

  • An ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, sense of initiative, creativity, rigour, energy, diplomacy, independence, resourcefulness, and stress management;

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including Office 365, Excel, OneDrive, PowerPoint);

  • Familiarity with printing processes and graphic design, an asset;

  • Experience in a marketing agency, an asset.
