François St-Aubin (Set and Costume Design, 1984) has had an illustrious career in theatre design for the past 25 years. He has designed costumes for more than 80 theatre productions, a dozen operas as well as modern dance pieces. Based in Montreal, QC, he has been under contract with all of its major theatre and dance companies. In the summer of 2004, he made his debut at Canada’s prestigious Stratford Festival; he was asked to return in 2006 and 2007. His work has been seen in Canada, the United States, France and Mexico. He has had the honour of collaborating with such brilliant talents as Ben Barnes, Dominic Champagne (Écriture dramatique, 1987), René Richard Cyr (Interprétation, 1980), Robert Lepage, Denis Marleau, Richard Monette, and Andrey Tarasiuk (Production, 1977). Mr. St-Aubin also finds time to teach costume design and costume rendering at Collège Lionel-Groulx and has coached costume design at the National Theatre School.

François St-Aubin is delighted by his appointment and said the following: “As an artist of the 21st century, my aesthetic and stylistic approach reflects the sensitivity of our time. Using my network of artists with specialized knowledge of contemporary techniques, in combination with the available methods and technological tools, I intend to challenge and stimulate my students to recognize their full creative potential and prepare them for careers on national and international stages.”
